Craig and I got engaged yesterday. Love the ring. I’m very happy and excited.

Received the letter last Friday. Finally got the the file number for my PR application. Booked appointment for medical exam.

The first good news in 2011.

2011

Haven’t written anything for a long time. It’s 2011 now.

Reviewing the New Year’s resolutions I set up for 2010, I feel quite good of myself that I actually accomplished most of them. I graduated, found a job, got G1, learned lots of new skills (driving, a bit Korean, different types of injections, blood collection & basic surgical skills, etc), met lots of new ppl and made some new friends. and for the past year, I did exercise more, ate more healthy and lost a bit weight (mom is happy ). Also, I did work hard and save money. I didn’t take any vacation or go on trips to anywhere. But I did had great time hanging out with friends and my honey.

For 2011, my goals will be:

1. get G2

2. try to get a PFT job

3. learn ski/snowboarding

4. travel back HOME

5. learn more skills

6. make more friends/get to know more ppl

7. I hope to take a trip to somewhere (SA?)

8. keep eating healthy and exercising

MISC

Moved to a new condo, even closer to my work place and close to pretty much everything, like grocery store, shoppers, dollar store, etc. The best thing I like about the condo is its swimming poor and whirlpool. I have been swimming after work for the past two days. It’s awesome. I’m planning to swim every day after work. It’s a nice way to relax as well as exercise.

Did 5 driving lessons already. So far, it’s been really great. Learned a lot, and I really enjoyed driving. Went on the highway a couple of times with the coach. Craig also let me drive his car now when we go for grocery shopping.

Last but not least, work has been good as always; and the cherry tomatoes I grew from seeds are ripening now.

5 yrs

Didn’t have time to update on 27th. But yeah, I’ve been in Canada for exact 5 yrs on this July 27th. Can’t believe it’s already been 5 yrs!!! So I have been posting entries of my life here in English for almost 5 yrs! I still remember the first couple of months after I landed. So many things happened in the past 5 yrs…I completed my studies, made lots of good friends, learned lots of new skills… And now, I have a job, have someone I love who also loves me back, have great friends who I care a lot about and have fun with, and I can totally support myself while still saving a bit money. Life is too good to be true.

Update

Time flies! It’s almost the end of July already! And it’s almost been two months since I updated last time! Can’t believe it! >< Time goes by so fast especially when you’re happy and having fun.

Not much happened in June, but I did watch a couple of good movies I guess.

For July, it’s been a very exciting month so far.

 - Went to Wasaga Beach with Chengcheng and Craig on Canada Day. It was very windy and a bit cold. But it was very nice experience overall. We had picnic at the beach, and I fell in love with those wind turbines along the highway.

 - Went for BBQ with Craig’s old friends and had lots of fun.

 - Went for my 1st in-car driving lesson last Sat, and got to drive back home after the lesson on the road for the 1st in my life! I’m going for lessons again this coming Sat.

 - Went for interview for a volunteer position at SickKid yesterday. Passed it, and got the position! So happy! The orientation and training will be somewhere in August, and I’ll officially start volunteering this Sept!

I think volunteering has become part of my life.

Wrap up

The weather is very good these days – sunny and HOT! Had a great long weekend. Spent the Sunday working in the garden; transferred all my indoor plants to the backyard. Had a house BBQ party and watched two movies – "The Young Victoria" & "Nine". Liked them both.

At work, I officially start being in charge of the room where I’m supposed to be for the next 13 months today. It’s a crazy day today. I’ve gotten lots of things to take care of. There were lots of sick cases to open or treat, a couple of dead ones to report, cages to change, water and food to check, tumors to monitor, labs and vets to call, etc. I was extremely busy, but still had a very nice day.
